The special procedure for the sale in Russia of registered foreign medicinal products will remain in effect until December 31, 2027, according to the government’s press service.
The measure concerns the possibility of selling foreign medicines in their original foreign packaging. “At the same time, the label must be in Russian,” the statement says.
The relevant resolution has already been signed. As noted by the government, this measure “will help maintain the stability of supplies of essential medicines” to outpatient clinics, pharmacies, and hospitals.
Decisions on whether a specific foreign medicine may be sold under this special procedure are made by a dedicated interagency commission, which includes representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Roszdravnadzor, the Ministry of Finance, the Federal Customs Service, and the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, the government extended simplified procedures for the state registration of certain medicines and the most in-demand medical devices.
