{"id":474,"date":"2026-04-03T11:21:51","date_gmt":"2026-04-03T08:21:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bio-jet.ru\/en\/?p=474"},"modified":"2026-04-03T11:21:51","modified_gmt":"2026-04-03T08:21:51","slug":"golikova-clinical-trials-underway-for-14-drugs-and-23-medical-devices-within-new-national-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bio-jet.ru\/en\/blog\/2026\/04\/03\/golikova-clinical-trials-underway-for-14-drugs-and-23-medical-devices-within-new-national-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Golikova: Clinical Trials Underway for 14 Drugs and 23 Medical Devices Within New National Project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova announced the first results of the national project \u201cNew Health Preservation Technologies,\u201d launched in 2025, during a meeting of the project committee attended by representatives of multiple ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Finance, FMBA, and Roszdravnadzor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the key outcomes are the establishment of production for 345 medicines and 992 medical devices, the launch of clinical trials for 14 original drugs and 23 medical devices, and the creation of infrastructure to support clinical research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2025, production was launched for 992 medical devices that had not previously been manufactured in Russia, including microcatheters for cerebral blood vessels used in stroke treatment, as well as 42 types of devices equipped with remote data transmission functions. In addition, production was organized for 345 pharmaceutical products, including 25 medicines from the essential drugs list that had not previously been produced domestically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The number of supported projects has also increased. According to the report, clinical trials are currently underway for 14 original drugs and 23 medical devices \u201cwith no global analogues.\u201d In August, Golikova had reported 9 drug trials and 21 device trials under the project. Their introduction into clinical practice is scheduled for 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the developments are a vaccine for birch pollen allergy and related food allergies, potentially relevant for around 20 million people; EnteroMix, a drug for treating solid tumors; an innovative non-opioid treatment for chronic pain; peptide-based therapies for cancers of the gastrointestinal tract and bladder; and medical devices for correcting neurocognitive disorders such as memory and attention impairment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another achievement of the project is the introduction into clinical practice of a non-surgical treatment technology for large joint osteoarthritis developed by the Petrovsky National Research Center of Surgery. The technology was developed starting in 2023 and has been included in clinical guidelines since 2025. The potential need for this treatment is estimated at approximately 1.5 million patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Golikova, over the first year of the project, domestic medical devices for diagnosing diseases of the female reproductive system were also developed and registered, including a test system for early detection of endometrial cancer without invasive procedures. Their trials are ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To support clinical trials and the testing of new technologies, eight clinical research sites have been established within federal organizations under the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and FMBA. These sites focus on priority areas such as oncology, cardiology, neurology, surgery, and regenerative medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The national project consists of five federal subprojects: \u201cManagement of Medical Science,\u201d \u201cMedical Technology Development,\u201d \u201cBiomedical and Cognitive Technologies of the Future,\u201d \u201cRegenerative Biomedicine, Preventive Medicine Technologies, and Active Longevity,\u201d and \u201cDevelopment of Production of High-Demand Medicines and Medical Devices.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In January 2026, the Russian Ministry of Finance presented preliminary data on federal budget spending for national projects in 2025.
