According to Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko, approximately 480 drugs have been registered in the country since the start of 2024, with over 70% produced by domestic manufacturers. During the same period, Roszdravnadzor issued 1,800 registration certificates for medical devices, half of which are also of Russian origin. Murashko shared this information in his welcoming address to participants of the international forum “World Quality Day 2024.”
He noted that measures are being taken to develop domestic production of pharmaceutical substances and finished dosage forms. To ensure the quality control of medical products, Russia operates 13 federal laboratory complexes equipped with modern technology, which conduct quality checks on medicines available in the market. According to the minister, the existing system for monitoring the quality of medical products ensures the safety of the population.
Earlier in October, Murashko emphasized that import substitution and the adoption of domestic innovations are key strategic directions for the development of Russian healthcare. “Our goal is not only to maintain the production of vital medicines but also to develop new, groundbreaking treatment methods,” he said.
