Market participants in children’s toys, sports nutrition, instant beverages (tea, coffee, cocoa), confectionery, building materials, and razors are now required to be registered in the national digital product labeling system. Mandatory labeling for these categories will be introduced gradually starting October 1, 2025. The technical solutions for labeling have already been tested, and many companies are already working within the system.
In addition, from September 1, mandatory labeling applies to lubricants and special automotive fluids, as well as to another stage of non-alcoholic beverage labeling. The requirements now cover milk-containing drinks in all types of packaging (for example, canned coffee, carbonated milk drinks, etc.).
For dietary supplements, certain types of medical devices, rehabilitation products, and antiseptics, requirements are being introduced for item-level tracking of product circulation — the final stage of digital labeling implementation in this market. For some product groups, companies are also required to provide information to the labeling system regarding product withdrawal from circulation, as well as volume-and-assortment-based reporting of product circulation.
Furthermore, the scope of permitted operation of cash register equipment is being expanded to include bicycles and veterinary medicines. It is worth noting that since 2024, more than 2.3 billion items with labeling violations were prevented from being sold to consumers.
Additionally, starting September 1, pharmacies nationwide are implementing an offline module for verifying medicines for medical use, which will allow drug authentication even without an internet connection.
According to the operator of the digital labeling system “Chestny ZNAK” (Operator-CRPT LLC), more than 930,000 companies are currently registered in the system, and this number continues to grow. Detailed information on the implementation of digital labeling is available on the official website chestnyznak.rf.
